Kim Kardashian credits husband Kanye West for her style icon status

"I really think that my relationship with my husband Kanye really changed everything," she told CNN style. "I mean, back in the day, I thought I had the best style. I look back at outfits and I'm mortified."
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star also confessed that she didn't know much about the industry, so Kanye introduced her to a whole new world and pointed out who she should work with.
"I remember one day, he brought me Carine Roitfeld's book and was like, 'You should be studying this book, this is the fashion bible.'" she explained. "I was like, 'Who's Carine?' I knew nothing, and he said, 'Watch, one day she's going to style you.'"
Nowadays, there's no doubt that Kim knows Carine well – she even covered the third edition of the former Vogue editor's book.

Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci dressed Kim for the 2014 Met Ball

Although the reality TV queen continues to dazzle her fans with her effortlessly cool outfits, North West's mother admitted that she still turns to Kanye for style advice before leaving the house.
"I love my husband's opinion, so I always ask his opinion on everything and he always helps me put together my looks," she said. "Kanye sees what's out there on the streets and just knows how to translate that into something that would look good on me. Just helping me push my limits a little bit and trying new things."
Although these days designers clamber to get Kim to wear their designs, she admitted that a few years ago, there was just one who was willing to dress her for the 2014 Met Ball – Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci.
"Riccardo is the first designer that took a chance on me," she revealed. "I'm so grateful that he saw a vision and was willing to dress me, because no other designers were at that time."
